We make these every year on New Years' Eve! A great appetizer to ring in the New Year! Ingredients:
1 pound sweet sausage |
1 pound hot sausage |
1 teaspoon parsley (optional) |
1 can (27 oz) sauerkraut, drained |
8 tablespoons bread crumbs |
1 large onion, diced |
1 teaspoon garlic powder or garlic salt |
salt and pepper, to taste |
2 pkgs (8 oz each) cream cheese, softened |
Directions:
1. Brown sausages and onion; drain. Add rest of ingredients and mix well. Let sit 1 hour. Shape in balls, roll in flour, dip in egg and milk mixture (about 4 eggs and a little milk), then roll in bread crumbs. Deep fry until brown, approximately 5 minutes. |
