Coney Island Sauce - Detroit Style

This is exactly like the Coney Sauce my husband grew up eating in the Detroit area.
Ingredients:
2 lbs hamburger
6 ounces tomato paste
6 ounces water
2 tablespoons mustard
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 clove garlic, minced
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 teaspoon cumin
Directions:
1. Do not precook hamburger.
2. Combine all ingredients in 2 qt.
3. saucepan.
4. Cover and cook on medium heat for 1 hour.
5. Stir occasionally, blot to remove excess fat and liquid.
6. Serve over cooked hot dogs.
