Ingredients:
1 bunch (about 3 pounds) collard greens, cleaned |
1 (1/2-pound) ham hock |
1 quart water |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon sugar |
Directions:
1. Place collards in a large bowl; add water to cover, and set aside for 1 hour. Drain well 2. Wash ham hock; place in a large Dutch oven. Add remaining ingredients; bring to a boil. Add collard greens, stirring well. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 2 hours or until greens are tender. |
