This is my verison of a family classic. Crunchy goodness with a nice zing.
Ingredients:
8 cups cabbage, finely shredded and diced
1 cup carrots, finely shredded
2 green onions, minced
1/3 cup & 2 tsp white granulated sugar
3/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 tsp celery seed
2 tsp celery salt
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup buttermilk
3/4 cup mayonnaise
1 1/2 tbsp white vinegar
2 1/2 tbsp lemon juice
Directions:
1. Mix together cabbage, carrots, green onions in a large bowl. Set aside.
2. Mix all remaining ingredients together in a medium size bowl. Pour over cabbage mixture. Mix well.
3. Cover and chill for 2-4 hours. Occassionally stir to make sure everything is well coated.
