This is my verison of a family classic. Crunchy goodness with a nice zing. Ingredients:
8 cups cabbage, finely shredded and diced |
1 cup carrots, finely shredded |
2 green onions, minced |
1/3 cup & 2 tsp white granulated sugar |
3/4 tsp salt |
1/4 tsp black pepper |
1 tsp celery seed |
2 tsp celery salt |
1/4 cup milk |
1/4 cup buttermilk |
3/4 cup mayonnaise |
1 1/2 tbsp white vinegar |
2 1/2 tbsp lemon juice |
Directions:
1. Mix together cabbage, carrots, green onions in a large bowl. Set aside. 2. Mix all remaining ingredients together in a medium size bowl. Pour over cabbage mixture. Mix well. 3. Cover and chill for 2-4 hours. Occassionally stir to make sure everything is well coated. |
