Makes about 4 dozen meatballs. Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef |
1/2 cup seasoned bread crumbs |
1 egg |
1 tablespoon water |
1/2 small onion, finely chopped |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon black pepper |
1 garlic clove, minced |
1/2 small onion, finely chopped |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon black pepper |
1 cup ketchup |
1 cup cola (do not use the diet type) |
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce |
1/2 medium green bell pepper, finely chopped |
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 325°F In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, water, half of the onion, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper; mix well. Form into 1-inch meatballs and place in a 9 x 13 baking dish. 2. In a medium bowl, combine the remaining ingredients, including the remaining onion, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper; mix well, then pour over the meatballs. 3. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until the sauce is bubbling and the meatballs are cooked through. |
