In Rhode Island, you will see containers of coffee milk alongside containers of chocolate and white milk. Coffee-flavored syrup is used to flavor milk, milkshakes, and ice cream. I found this recipe in The United States Cookbook. I have not tried this recipe, but I'm posting this for safe keeping. Ingredients:
1 cup brewed coffee or 1 cup instant coffee, cooled |
1 cup 2% low-fat milk |
1 tablespoon light vanilla syrup |
3 scoops coffee ice cream |
4 ice cubes |
Directions:
1. Put the coffee, milk, vanilla syrup, and ice cream in the blender. Mix well. 2. Add the ice cubes. Blend until the mixture is smooth. 3. Pour into 4 tall glasses. |
