I have not tried this liqueur. I'm posting this for safe keeping. I found this recipe in Complete Book Of Small Batch Preserving. If you wish, 1/2 cup (125 ml) and 1 tablespoon (15 ml) instant coffee powder may be substituted for the espresso. Ingredients:
1/2 cup freshly brewed espresso (125 ml) |
1/2 cup lightly packed brown sugar (125 ml) |
1 cup alcohol (250 ml) or 1 cup vodka (250 ml) |
1/3 cup brandy (75 ml) or 1/3 cup rum (75 ml) |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
Directions:
1. Place hot coffee in a 2-cup (500 ml) measure and stir in sugar until dissolved. 2. Stir in alcohol, brandy and vanilla. Pour into a clean bottle. Store 4 weeks before using. |
