This is just a great melt in your mouth mousse. It originated from Delta Pointe Restaurant in Vicksburg Mississippi. I got it from my grammy. Ingredients:
4 egg yolks |
3/4 cup sugar |
1/4 cup grand marnier |
6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, in chunks |
4 tablespoons brewed black coffee |
6 ounces butter |
4 egg whites |
2 tablespoons confectioners' sugar |
Directions:
1. In a double boiler, combine egg yolks, sugar and Grand Marnier. 2. Heat until sugar melts thoroughly. 3. In a separate pan, melt chocolate and coffee together. 4. Add butter a little at a time. 5. Mix thoroughly. 6. Beat egg whites until stiff. 7. Slowly add confectioners sugar while continuing to beat. 8. Combine egg yolk and chocolate mixtures and quickly into whites. 9. Mix thoroughly and pour into individual serving dishes. 10. Chill 2-4 hours immediately. 11. Serve. |
