Coffee Cake With Chocolate |

I find the combination of coffee and chocolate quite morish. This recipe is an adaptation of an old one I was given some years ago, and that I decided to make my own. Ingredients:
280 grs butter |
300 grs sugar |
grated zest of 1/2 lemon |
4 eggs + 1 yolk |
6 tbsp very strong made coffee |
300 grs plain flour |
1 tsp baking powder |
100 grs plain chocolate |
1.5 dl cream |
raspberries |
chocolate shavings |
Directions:
1. Whisk together the butter, sugar and lemon zest. 2. Add the eggs and the yolk plus the codffee. 3. Sieve the flour and baking powder together ans add to the mixture. 4. Pour into a prepared tin (24cm) and bake at 180ÂșC for 45-60 minutes. 5. In the meantime, break the chocolate in small pieces and add the cream. 6. Cook mixing coninuously untill the chocolate has melted and you have a glossy mixture - DO NOT LET IT BOIL. 7. When the cake is cold, unmould onto a cake dish and pout the chocolate sauce over it. 8. Decorate with raspberries and the chocolate shavings. 9. A swirl of chantilly would go well |
