This is another of my school recipes I have had for over 30 years. Need to post it here before it fades for good on the paper. I really enjoy this simple cake recipe. Ingredients:
1 cup flour |
2 teaspoons baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon |
1 egg |
1/2 cup sugar |
1/2 cup milk |
2 tablespoons butter (melted) |
1 tablespoon butter |
1 tablespoon flour |
2 tablespoons walnuts (chopped) |
1/4 cup brown sugar |
Directions:
1. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon in a bowl. 2. In another bowl beat the egg then add sugar, milk and melted butter. 3. Add the egg mixture to the flour mixture stirring quickly with a fork. 4. Pour batter into a well greased 8 square pan 5. Mix together Topping ingredients in a small bowl and sprinkle over batter. 6. Bake at 375 for 25-30 minutes. 7. Can be drizzled with a simple icing after. |
