This is from a cookbook I received in an exchange a while back. It's a compilation of recipes from the family's of the Aaron Parker Elementary School. Most of the recipes are very simple, that is why I like them. I am posting this so that I do not lose it. I am posting these as is. It does not have a bake time. Once I have made it myself I will revise.
Ingredients:
5 eggs
1/2 cup crisco
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/3 cups coconut
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 teaspoon coconut flavoring
2 cups flour
1/2 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup water
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Directions:
1. CAKE.
2. Beat eggs, crisco and sugar together.
3. Add other ingredients and mix well.
4. Prepare loaf pans with crisco on bottom and sides, dust well with flour.
5. Bake at 350 degrees til done.
6. GLAZE.
7. Blend ingredients together and cook in saucepan until it forms a syrup. Spread on cake while cake is hot.
