This is a good recipe when you only have cocoa and granulated sugar and you need a quick icing for a cake. Icing will be thin at first but will be soft and creamy when cooled Ingredients:
2 cups granulated sugar |
3 tablespoons cocoa |
1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar |
1 pinch salt |
1 cup milk |
1/4 cup butter |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
Directions:
1. Put first 5 ingredients in saucepan and boil on medium heat 10 minutes. 2. Remove from heat, stir in butter and vanilla. 3. Mix thoroughly and spread over layer or sheet cake. 4. Icing will be thin at first but will be soft and creamy when cool. 5. Makes enough for tops and sides of 3 layer cake or sheet cake. |
