An easy to make cake that doesn't call for any eggs. Not as sweet and sugary as some of the other cakes, that's why my family and I like it! In my oppinion it kind of tastes like the chocolate part in a Hostess cupcake ;) Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour |
1 cup sugar |
1/4 cup hersheys unsweetened cocoa |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 cup water |
1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons vegetable oil |
1 tablespoon vinegar (i use apple cidar vinegar) |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 350 degrees 2. grease and flour 8-inch square or 9-inch round baking pan 3. In large bowl, stir together flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, and salt 4. Add water, oil, vinegar, and vanilla 5. beat with spoon or wire whisk just until batter is smooth and ingredients are well blended 6. pour batter into prepared pan 7. bake 35 to 40 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean 8. cool in pan |
