These meatballs are really tasty and are so easy because you do not have to precook the meatballs. At parties, I serve them in a crockpot so they stay warm all evening, but they usually disappear before they can get cold! The meatballs can be made ahead of time and frozen. Just thaw, place in a pan, cover with sauce and bake. Ingredients:
3 lbs lean ground beef |
1/2 cup chopped onion |
1 cup oatmeal |
12 ounces evaporated milk |
1 cup cracker crumb |
2 eggs |
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon pepper |
2 cups ketchup |
1 cup brown sugar |
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder |
1/4 cup chopped onion |
Directions:
1. Combine ground beef, onions, oatmeal, evaporated milk, cracker crumbs, eggs, garlic powder, salt and pepper. 2. Mix well and form into small meatballs. 3. Place meatballs in a glass dish sprayed with PAM. 4. Make sauce by combining ketchup, brown sugar, garlic powder and chopped onions. 5. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. 6. Spoon sauce over meatballs occasionally while baking. |
