Ingredients:
2 cup(s) flour |
2 eggs |
1 tablespoon(s) crisco |
1 1/2 teaspoon(s) salt |
cold water |
Directions:
1. As told to me by Grandmother Hume 2. Measure flour in mixing bowl 3. Make a hole in center and add eggs salt and Crisco (solid) 4. Mix into a soft dough adding cold water a little at a time 5. The dough should just hold together 6. roll out on a flowered space. 7. I keep putting flour on the rolling pin if the dough is sticky 8. Roll to about the thickness of pie dough and cut in squares 9. Have broth boiling then drop in squares, be sure to keep broth boiling as you add the squares 10. Stir with a fork and cook slow. I add a little flour to the squares as I put them in the broth 11. Be sure not to let the broth get too thick or the dumplings will be dry |
