This a quick, easy hot sauce my dad makes. With Tomatoes, jalapenos and spices. My mom had to go behind him to write down what he was tossing in. Ingredients:
2 medium size jalapeno peppers, 1 with seeds/1 without seeds |
1 (28 oz) can whole tomatoes, with juice |
1/4 tsp dried oregano |
1 slice white onion |
1/2 tsp cumin |
1/4 tsp salt |
1 tsp garlic (optional) |
Directions:
1. Optional-put a quick roast on the jalapeno skins, if desired, by placing on stove burner or gas stove grate. Turn peppers as they get slightly charred or grill marks on skin. This take just a couple of minutes for this process. Remove and cool slightly. Do not remove the skins. Chop stem tops off. Remove seeds from one pepper. 2. Place jalapeno peppers, entire can of whole tomatoes and all remaining ingredients into a blender. Pulse and/or puree' to desired consistency. 3. Serve with favorite chips. 4. NOTE: Can whole tomatoes are preferred |
