I made these for Thanksgiving and they were so good. Ingredients:
2 -2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour |
1 (8 ounce) envelope fast rising yeast |
2 tablespoons sugar |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/2 cup milk |
1/4 cup water |
2 tablespoons butter |
Directions:
1. Combine 3/4 cup flour, undissolved yeast, sugar and salt in a large bowl. 2. Heat milk, water and butter until very warm (120-130 degrees). 3. Add to flour mixture. 4. Beat 2 minutes at medium speed of electric mixer, scraping bowl occasionally. 5. Add 1/4 cup flour, beat 2 minutes at high speed. 6. Stir in enough remaining flour to make a soft dough. 7. Knead on lightly floured surface until smooth and elastic (about 8-10 minutes). 8. Cover and let rest 10 minutes. 9. Divide dough into 12 equal pieces; shape into balls. Place in a greased 8-inch round pan. Cover and let rise in warm, draft free place until it has doubled in size, about 30 minutes. 10. Bake in preheated 375-degree oven for 20 minutes. 11. Brush tops with melted better and serve warm. |
