These are the best waffles I have ever had. It is important. Be sure to whisk and fold the egg whites in. It makes a world of a difference. Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour |
2 tablespoons sugar |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon active dry yeast |
3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled |
1 1/2 cups milk |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
3 eggs, seperated |
Directions:
1. Start the night before. Mix dry ingredients and sift. Add remaining ingredients except for eggs. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and leave out overnight. Room temperature. 2. Come morning, beat in egg yolks to yeast mixture. Beat egg whites with whisk until stiff peaks are made. Fold the egg whites into the mixture with a spoon. Cook for 3 minutes in preheated deep waffle iron. |
