Recipe by Gloria Troise Brown Frischmann This is NOT for the dieters LOL and I'll use less butter. I've had a friend use this recipe on a family 'cook-off and she won first prize! Ingredients:
2 dozen littleneck clams |
1 cup butter |
1 lb bacon |
1 onion |
1 1/2 green bell peppers |
1 red bell pepper |
tabasco sauce |
plain breadcrumbs |
Directions:
1. Steam clams, remove and chop. Wash the shells and let them dry. 2. Slice bacon into small pieces and brown. Drain and set aside. Remove bacon fat and melt butter. Add onions (until translucent) and peppers. Add seasoned salt and Tabasco to taste. 3. Remove from heat add bacon and clams. Slowly add bread crumbs until the butter is incorporated. Try not to use a lot of bread crumb. 4. Stuff the clam shells. Add some lemon juice on each and broil 15 minutes (top will brown). |
