My mother-in-law's recipe that my husband always asks for - who would think a land-locked prairie recipe for clam chowder could be this good.
Ingredients:
2 regular cans stewed tomatoes
2 cans baby clams, drained
2 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
2 large carrots, cleaned and cubed
6 strips crisp bacon, crumbled
salt and pepper to taste
1 can tomato juice
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients in large pot.
2. Simmer on stovetop 2 hours.
3. Serve with buns and butter.
