From an Old restaurant in Charleston sc that I used to love a lot Ingredients:
1 gallon water |
1/8 cup salt |
4 tablespoons white pepper |
1 1/2 cups wesson oil |
1 quart tomato sauce |
3 tablespoons chicken base |
1/8 cup garlic powder |
2 teaspoons marjoram leaves |
3/4 quart chili powder |
3/4 quart flour |
1 quart water |
Directions:
1. mix chicken base, water, salt, garlic powder, white pepper and marjoram. 2. add oil chili powder and tomato sauce. 3. bring to a roaring boil. 4. add roux. 5. let simmer 30 minutes. |
