From The Everyday Low Carb Slow Cooker Cookbook. Per Serving: 267 calories, 9g protein, 3g net carbs, 25g fat, 10mg cholesterol, 40mg sodium Ingredients:
1 lb raw walnut halves |
1/4 cup butter, melted |
2 teaspoons cinnamon, divided |
1 teaspoon sugar, divided |
1 tablespoon splenda granular |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
Directions:
1. Place walnuts in crockpot. 2. In small bowl, mix together the butter, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp sugar, splenda, and vanilla. 3. Mix well and pour over walnuts, toss well to coat. 4. Cover and cook on low for 2 1/2 hours When done cooking, sprinkle the remaining sugar and cinnamon over the nuts and toss well. 5. **Cook's Tip - don't worry about the small amount of real sugar in this recipe; it makes the cinnamon coat the nuts so much better than without it. The carbs are still low, so relax! |
