CINNAMON TEA CAKES This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Adair Estate in Sulphur Springs, Texas in 1994. Ingredients:
1/2 cup powdered sugar |
1 cup butter softened |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
2 cups all purpose flour |
1 cup chopped walnuts |
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/8 teaspoon salt |
coating |
1/4 cup granulated sugar |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
heat oven to 325. |
Directions:
1. In large bowl combine powdered sugar, butter and vanilla then beat until light and fluffy. 2. Add flour, walnuts, cinnamon and salt then mix well. 3. Shape dough into 1 balls then place 1 apart on ungreased cookie sheet. 4. Bake at 325 for 15 minutes or until set but not brown. 5. Immediately remove from cookie sheets and cool 3 minutes or until slightly cooled. 6. Meanwhile in a small bowl mix coating ingredients together then roll warm cookies in coating. |
