a yummy cake for supper!! Ingredients:
3/4 cup sugar |
1/4 cup shortening |
1 egg |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1/2 cup milk |
1 cup flour |
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
2 tablespoons butter, softened |
6 tablespoons powdered sugar |
2 teaspoons cinnamon |
preheat oven to 375°f. |
Directions:
1. Cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Add 1 egg and beat well. Add vanilla to milk and stir in. 2. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Add to above mixture. Beat until smooth, about 1 minute. 3. Grease and lightly flour a round 9 inch cake pan or 8 inch square pan. 4. Spread batter evenly and bake for 20-25 minutes or until tooth pick inserted in center comes out clean. 5. Remove from oven and spread immediately with butter. Sift powdered sugar and cinnamon over cake. Serve warm |
