These homemade croutons are flavored with cinnamon and sugar and used as a topping for fruit soup. Ingredients:
8 (1/2-inch-thick) french bread slices, cubed |
1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted |
1 tablespoon sugar |
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
Directions:
1. Place bread cubes in a large zip-top plastic bag; add melted butter. Seal bag, and shake to coat. Combine sugar and cinnamon; add to bag, reseal, and toss well. Arrange cubes on an ungreased baking sheet or jellyroll pan. Bake at 325°, stirring occasionally, for 28 minutes or until crisp and dry. |
