with apple season here this cake looked good... it has apples, cinnamon schnapps, and nuts... yum... I haven't tried it but it is on my list.!! Ingredients:
3 apples, peeled and sliced |
2 teaspoons cinnamon |
1/3 cup cinnamon schnapps |
1/2 cup butter, softened |
1 cup granulated sugar |
3 eggs |
3 cups all-purpose flour |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1 tablespoon baking powder |
3/4 cup sour cream |
1 cup nuts, chopped |
glaze |
2 tablespoons butter |
1/2 cup granulated sugar |
1/3 cup water |
2 tablespoons cinnamon schnapps |
nuts, chopped (garnish) |
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a Bundt pan. 2. Mix together the apples, cinnamon and cinnamon schnapps; set aside. 3. Cream butter and sugar; add eggs and beat 2 minutes. Add remaining ingredients except apples and nuts. Beat well. Drain liquid from apples and add to batter. Mix well. Add apples and nuts. Bake for 1 hour. Cool for 20 to 30 minutes before glazing. 4. ...................................................... 5. Glaze 6. Bring butter, sugar and water to a boil for 2 to 3 minutes. Stir in schnapps; pour over cake. Sprinkle with chopped nuts |
