This is a cinnamony, sugary cake that can be topped with whipped cream, or served plain. Ingredients:

2 c. brown sugar |
1-1/2 c. water |
2 or 3 t. margarine or butter |
cake |
1 c. milk |
1 c. white sugar |
2 t. margarine |
2 t. cinnamon |
2 c. flour |
2 t. baking powder |
pinch of salt |
1 t. vanilla |
topping |
1/2 c. chopped nuts |
Directions:
1. Put syrup ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Remove from heat. 2. Beat cake ingredients until light and fluffy, and pour into a greased 9 x 11 inch pan. Sprinkle with nuts, and pour warm syrup all over it. 3. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes. 4. Serve with whipped cream. |
