These are wonderful for Sunday breakfast with coffee and the newspaper. Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter, softened |
1/2 cup sugar |
1 large egg |
1/2 cup milk |
1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour |
1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg |

1/4 cup butter |
1/2 cup sugar |
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
Directions:
1. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. 2. Beat in egg and milk 3. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg. 4. Mix well. 5. Stir into creamed mixture. 6. Batter will be stiff. 7. Fill greased or paper-lined muffin cups 2/3 full. 8. Bake at 350° for 15-20 minutes or until cake test is done. 9. Meanwhile, melt butter. 10. In a bowl, combine sugar and cinnamon. 11. Remove muffins from oven and muffin tin. 12. Immediately dip tops into butter and then cinnamon sugar. 13. Serve warm. |
