Cinnamon Apple Salsa

Kids of ALL ages love this desert on a cold winter day after sledding or as a tasty finish to family game night. Excellent with the chips or as a Vanilla Ice Cream topping.
Ingredients:
for chips
1/4 c. butter, melted (or veggie oil)
1 - 24 pk small flour or corn tortillas, cut into chip shapped pieces
1/2 c. sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
for salsa
1/4 c. butter
1 c. walnuts
6 tart granny smith apples, peeled, cored and chopped into bite sized pieces
1/4 c. raisins
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 c. water
Directions:
1. For Salsa:
2. In large saucepan over med-high heat, melt butter and saute walnuts for aprox 3 min.
3. Reduce heat to med low. Add apples, raisins, sugar, cinnamon, & water; stir to mix thoroughly. Cover and simmer for aprox 15-20 min, gently stirring occasionally. You want apples to be cooked but still maintaining their shape.
4. For Chips:
5. While apples are simmering, set broiler to med-hi.
6. Place cut-up tortillas on cookie sheet. With pastry brush, brush a light coating of melted butter (or vegetable oil) on each chip.
7. In small bowl mix together sugar & cinnamon. Sprinkle small ammount of mixture on each chip.
8. Put chips under broiler until slightly browned.
