Its best to make this a day in advance. Ingredients:
* 1 head cabbage finely shredded |
* 4 green onions with tops thinly sliced or 1/2 c chopped white onion |
* 3/4 cup granulated sugar |
* 3/4 cup cider vinegar |
* 1-1/2 teaspoons celery seed |
* 1-1/2 teaspoons salt |
* 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper |
* 3/4 cup vegetable oil |
Directions:
1. Place cabbage into a large non-reactive bowl. 2. * In a small saucepan combine sugar, vinegar, celery seed, salt and pepper then bring to a boil. 3. * Add oil then return to a boil and cook over medium heat stirring constantly until sugar is dissolved. 4. * Pour dressing over cabbage then toss to coat well. 5. * Cover and refrigerate at least 3 hours before serving. |
