This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Marcus Estate in Greenville, Texas in 1994. Ingredients:
3 ounces lemon gelatin |
2 cups hot cider |
2 tablespoons lemon juice |
1 cup chopped red apples |
1/2 cup broken walnuts |
1/2 cup sliced pitted dates |
1 tablespoon grated orange rind |
8 lettuce leaves |
Directions:
1. Dissolve gelatin in hot cider then add lemon juice and chill until partially set. 2. Fold in apples, walnuts, dates and orange rind then turn into 1 quart mold. 3. Chill until firm then serve on lettuce leaves. |
