From the NZ Women's Division of Federated Farmers Cookbook in 1965. Ingredients:
4 ounces butter |
1 egg |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1 cup flour |
4 ounces sugar |
1 tablespoon cocoa |
1 tablespoon icing sugar |
1/2 cup milk |
1 cup dried shredded coconut |
Directions:
1. Cream the butter and sugar, add egg and then the dry ingredients. 2. Put half the mixture into a flat tin and spread with a hot knife. 3. Mix the filling and spread over the cake mixture in the tin. 4. Cover with the remaining cake mixture. 5. Bake at 350°F for 20-30 minutes. |
