A cake filled with chunks of apple and topped with an cream cheese frosting. Very easy to make and incredibly yummy!
Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter, melted
2 cups sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons cinnamon
4 cups granny smith apples, peeled and chunked into bit sized pieces or 3 granny smith apples
1 cup chopped walnuts
8 ounces cream cheese
3 tablespoons butter, softened
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
Directions:
1. Stir together the first four ingredients of the cake in large bowl until blended. Add next four ingredients, stirring until blended. Stir in apples and nuts - batter will be very thick and hard to spread. Spread in 13x9 inch glass pan. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes, cool.
2. Frosting: Beat cream cheese and butter at medium speed until creamy. Add powdered sugar and salt until blended, stir in vanilla. Spread on cake, garnish with nuts if desired.
