So named because this is what we have for breakfast on Christmas morning. I make it on Christmas Eve and refrigerate it overnight. On Christmas morning, I pop it in the oven while we open our presents and we have a wonderful hot breakfast waiting for us when we're done. Ingredients:
1 lb sausage |
6 eggs |
2 cups milk |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon dry mustard |
1 (8 ounce) package refrigerated crescent dinner rolls |
1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated |
Directions:
1. Brown sausage and drain. 2. Mix eggs, milk, salt, and mustard. 3. Unroll crescent dough and press into the bottom of a 9 x 13 casserole dish making sure you press the seams closed. 4. Top dough with sausage then cheese. 5. Pour egg and milk mixture over sausage and cheese. 6. Cover and refrigerate overnight. 7. Next morning: Preheat oven to 350 and bake for 45 minutes or until cheese melts and eggs have set. |
