Christmas Cream Cheese Cookies |

Colorful cookies that are easy to make for the holidays. Ingredients:
1 cup butter, softened |
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese |
1 cup sugar |
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract |
2 1/2 cups flour |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/2 cup red sugar crystals |
1/2 cup green sugar crystals |
Directions:
1. Cream together the butter and cream cheese. Add sugar and vanilla; beat until fluffy. 2. Combine the flour and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture until well mixed. Cover bowl and refrigerate for 15 minutes. 3. Shape dough into three 6 rolls, 1.5 in diameter. Wrap each roll tigtly in waxed paper and refrigerate overnight. 4. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Remove one roll of dough from refrigerator at a time. Coat each roll with red or green sugar crystals or a combination. Cut dough into 1/4 slices. 5. Bake for 10-12 minutes on greased cookie sheet or until set. |
