This is such a nice recipe. It uses leftovers and is so easy to make. Ingredients:
1 pound leftover pork from roast or ribs |
1 tablespoon butter |
2 cups chopped onions |
2 cups chopped celery |
1 can water chestnuts, sliced |
1 can chop suey vegetables |
4 ounces mushrooms |
1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce |
2 tablespoons karo syrup (light or dark) |
2 tablespoons cornstarch |
1/4 cup water |
salt and pepper to taste |
Directions:
1. Cube meat and brown in butter. Add onions and celery and cook until 2. crisp tender. Add the mushrooms and vegetables with the juices, water chestnuts, salt and pepper. 3. Add remaining ingredients except for cornstarch. Bring to a boil and add cornstarch mixture and simmer 10 minutes. Serve over rice |
