A combination of cinnamon and chocolate and pecans that is a winner everytime Ingredients:
2 cups flour |
2 cups sugar |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/2 cup butter |
1/2 cup shortening |
4 tablespoons cocoa |
1 cup water |
1/2 cup buttermilk |
2 eggs |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
icing |
1/2 cup butter (melted) |
3 tablespoons cocoa |
6 tablespoons milk |
1 pound powdered sugar |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1 cup chopped pecans |
Directions:
1. Mix flour, sugar and cinnamon 2. Heat butter, shortening, cocoa and water to boiling 3. add to cry ingredients 4. Mix well 5. Stir in eggs. buttermilk and vanilla (batter will be thin) 6. Pour into greased 9x13 pan 7. Bake at 375 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes 8. Icing 9. Mix all ingredients and spread on warm cake. |
