This is a take anywhere recipe. You will come back with an empty pan. Ingredients:
2 cups flour |
2 cups sugar |
1 cup oleo |
4 tablespoons cocoa |
1 cup water |
1/2 cup buttermilk |
2 eggs |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1/2 cup oleo |
2 tablespoons cocoa |
6 tablespoons milk |
1 (1 lb) box powdered sugar |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1 cup nuts |
Directions:
1. For cake, sift together flour and sugar; set aside. 2. In saucepan, mix oleo, cocoa and water; bring to a boil. 3. Pour over flour and sugar mixture; blend. 4. Add buttermilk, eggs, baking soda, cinnamon and vanilla; blend well. 5. Bake 20 minutes at 400° in a large jelly roll pan or sheet cake pan. 6. Frost while hot! 7. For icing, 5 minutes before cake is done, mix oleo, cocoa and milk; bring to a boil. 8. Remove from heat and add powdered sugar; stir until blended. 9. If needed, gradually add more milk a few drops at a time as needed for consistency. 10. Add vanilla and nuts. 11. Beat well and spread on hot cake. |
