This recipe was given to me by my sweet mother in-law Velma. It's sooo good. I love chocolate!! Be prepared for a truely chcolate experience!!!! Ingredients:

2 c. each of |
sugar |
flour |
2 sticks butter softened |
4 tbl. cocoa |
1 c. water |
1/2 tsp salt |
2 eggs beaten |
1/2 c. buttermilk |
1 tsp. baking soda (add to buttermilk) |
1 tsp. vanilla |
icing |
1 stick butter |
4 tbl. cocoa |
6 tbl. milk |
1 box powdered sugar |
1 tsp. vanilla |
1 c. chopped pecans |
1 tsp. cinnamon |
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 400' 2. grease and flour 9x13 pan 3. mix flour and sugar in a bowl 4. In a pan bring butter, cocoa and water to a boil 5. pou over flour and sugar and stir 6. add eggs, buttermilk, cinnamon, vanilla and salt 7. mix together til smooth 8. Bake in a 9x13 pan at 400' 9. 20-30 minutes til pick comes out clean 10. while cake is baking: 11. mix in a pan, butter, cocoa, milk 12. bring to a boil 13. turn heat very low and add; 14. powdered sugar ,vanilla 15. stir til smooth. 16. When cake is done poke holes in top randomly with a pick 17. whie cake is hot ; pour frosting over cake . 18. Don't worry ...the cake will soak up the chocolate. 19. Then sprinkle with pecans.. 20. Enjoy after cake cools . |
