So , here is the chocolate version . Ingredients:
175 gmgolden caster sugar |
150 gm butter , diced |
3 large eggs |
1 tsp vanilla essence |
1 tbsp thick milk |
1/2 tbsp golden syrup |
150 gm self raising flour |
25 gm cocoa pwd |
2 tbsp black cherry jam |
2 tbsp cream |
2 tbsp finely grated dark chocolate or |
1 tbsp icing sugar for dusting |
Directions:
1. Pre heat oven at 170 deg C . 2. Beat the butter and sugar until creamy . 3. Add the eggs and essence . 4. Beat until thick . 5. Add the flour , cocoa and the milk . 6. Mix well . 7. Pour into a 9 inch greased pan . 8. Bake for 35 mins . 9. Cool . 10. Cut into 2 layers . 11. Spread the jam and then the cream on a layer 12. and sandwich with the other layer . 13. Dust with icing sugar or sprinkle the chocolate shaving on top . |
