A delicious dessert square, that is fantastic for everyone - another great from Kraft! Ingredients:
1 (200 g) package mr. christie's chocolate wafers, finely crushed |
1 1/2 cups sugar, divided |
2 squares baker's semisweet chocolate, melted |
2 tablespoons sour cream |
1 (85 g) package jell-o strawberry jelly powder |
1 (7 g) envelope unflavored gelatin |
3/4 cup water |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
4 squares baker's semisweet chocolate, chopped |
2 tablespoons butter or 2 tablespoons margarine |
Directions:
1. Combine chocolate wafer crumbs, 1/2 cup sugar and melted butter. Add melted chocolate and sour cream; stir into crumbs. Press onto bottom of 9-inch square baking pan; chill. 2. Dissolve jelly powder in 3/4 cup boiling water; stir in 1/2 cup cold water. Pour over crumb layer; refrigerate until set. 3. Combine gelatin and 1 cup sugar in saucepan. Add water and heat, stirring constantly, until sugar is dissolved. Bring to a boil and boil gently, uncovered without stirring, for 6 minutes. Remove from heat, add vanilla and cool slightly. Beat until thick and creamy, about 5 minutes. Spread evenly over strawberry; refrigerate until set. 4. Melt chocolate with butter and spread over top; cool. 5. HOW TO: Cut carefully through chocolate, then through remaining layers. Do not press down into layers but use a sawing action to cut. |
