Ingredients:
1 cup(s) flour unsifted |
3/4 cup(s) sugar |
1/2 cup(s) nuts chopped |
2 tablespoon(s) cocoa |
2 teaspoon(s) baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon(s) salt |
1 teaspoon(s) vanilla |
2 tablespoon(s) shortening, melted |
1/2 cup(s) milk |
3/4 cup(s) brown sugar packed |
1/4 cup(s) cocoa |
1 3/4 cup(s) hot water |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In mixing bowl, combine flour with sugar, nuts, 2 tbsp. cocoa, baking powder, and salt. Add vanilla, shortening and milk; mix until well blended. Spread in ungreased 8 or 9 inch square pan. Combine brown sugar, 1/4 cup cocoa and hot water; pour over batter. Bake about 45 minutes or until cake topping is set. Serve warm or cool, topped with cream or whipped cream. |
