My family loves pecan pie, and here is one with just a a little added touch - Ingredients:
1 single pastry crust (9-inch) |
4 eggs |
1 cup sugar |
1 cup light corn syrup |
3 tablespoons butter or 3 tablespoons margarine, melted |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
2 cups pecan halves |
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips |
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 375°F. 2. FILLING: In the bowl of an electric mixer beat eggs at low speed until blended. Stir in sugar, corn syrup, butter, vanilla and salt. Stir in nuts and chocolate chips. Pour into unbaked pie crust. 3. Bake 55-60 minutes or until set. Cover edge of pie with foil if necessary, to prevent overbrowning. 4. Remove pie to cooling rack to cool completely. Cool to room temperature before serving. 5. Refrigerate leftover pie. |
