Chocolate Pears In Rasperry Sauce |

This is a very pretty and sweet dessert. Your guests will think there in a fancy restraunt. Ingredients:
chocolate sauce |
2 1/2 tbsp sugar |
2 1/2 tbsp unsweetened baking cocoa |
2 tbsp water |
2 tbsp corn syrup |
1/2 tsp vanilla |
raspberry sauce |
1 1/4 cups frozen unsweetened raspberries, thawed |
2 1/2 tbsp sugar |
1/2 tsp cornstarch |
pears |
6 ripe pears |
3 cups water |
3 tbsp lemon juice |
1/2 large vanilla bean, split |
Directions:
1. For the chocolate sauce, combine sugar and baking cocoa in a saucepan and mix well. 2. Stir in the water and corn syrup until smooth. 3. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring comstantly. 4. Remove form the heat and stir in the vanilla. 5. Pour into a bowl and cover; chill until serving time 6. For the raspberry sauce, combine the raspberries and sugar in a saucepan. 7. Cook over medium-low heat for 3 minutes or until the sugar dissolves, stirring constantly. 8. Strain the mixture and return to the sauscepan. 9. Stir in the cornstarch. 10. Bring to a boil over medium heat. 11. Boil for 1 minute or until slightly thickened. 12. Pour into a bowl and cover. 13. Chill until serving time. 14. For the pears, slice 1/4 inch from the bottom of each pear to make it stand upright. 15. Peel and core from the bottom, leaving the stem intact 16. Bring the water, lemon juice and vanilla bean to a boil in a heavy saucepan over medium heat. 17. Stand the pears in the liquid and reduce the heat. 18. Simmer,covered, for 20 min. or until the pears are tender. 19. Remove from liquid and cool. 20. To serve,place 1 tbsp raspberry sauce on each dessert plate. 21. Stand 1 pear in the raspberry sauce and drizzle with 1 tbsp of the chocolate sauce. |
