Chocolate-peanut Butter Cookie Bars |

Another must for pot-lucks, bake sales or my kids. This is a very simple yet rich recipe to put together. Ingredients:
1 (18-oz.) pkg. refrigerated chocolate chip cookies with nuts |
3 cups powdered sugar |
1 cup peanut butter |
2 tbsp. butter or margarine, softened |
1/4 cup water |
1 cup milk chocolate chips, melted |
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Cut cookie dough in half crosswise. 3. Cut each section in half lengthwise. 4. With floured fingers, press dough in bottom of ungreased 9-inch square pan. 5. Bake at 350 degrees for 16-24 minutes or until golden brown. 6. Cool 15-minutes. 7. In medium bowl, combine powdered sugar, peanut butter, butter and water; mix well. 8. (If necessary, add additional water 1 tsp. at a time up to 1 Tbsp. until mixture is smooth.) 9. Drop spoonfuls of mixture over baked cookie crust; press evenly to cover crust. 10. Spread melted chocolate chips aver peanut butter mixture. 11. If desired, decoratively swirl chocolatewith fork. 12. Refrigerate 1 hour or until chocolate is set. 13. Cut into bars. |
