Chocolate Orange Guiness Cake

This is an awesome cake. I got this recipe from an estate sale and have made it on several occasions. It is impressive and definitely good enough to serve company, especially if you want to make an impression. Read more Enjoy
Ingredients:
1 stick butter at room temperature
1-1/2 cups dark brown sugar
2 cups self rising flour
1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 rounded tablespoons cocoa
grated rind of 1 orange
4 eggs
1/2 cup guinness stout
frosting
1 stick butter softened
2 cups confectioner's sugar
grated rind and juice of 1 large orange
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375.
2. Grease two cake pans.
3. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
4. Sift flour, baking powder, salt and cocoa into a bowl.
5. Add orange rind to the creamed butter.
6. Beat in eggs one at a time including a spoonful of the measured flour mixture with each one.
7. Beat well between additions.
8. Gently mix in Guinness and flour 1 tablespoonful at a time.
9. Gently fold in any remaining flour then blend thoroughly without over beating.
10. Divide mixture between cake pans then smooth down and put cakes in center of preheated oven.
11. Reduce heat to 350 and bake 40 minutes then turn out and cool on a wire rack.
12. To make icing cream softened butter and confectioner's sugar and mix thoroughly.
13. Blend in grated orange rind and enough juice to make an icing that is soft enough to spread.
14. When cakes are cold use half the icing to sandwich them together and spread rest on top.
