Another gem sent to me from my Grandmother. Ingredients:
1/2 cup rolled oats |
1 cup hot water |
1/2 cup margarine |
1 1/2 cups brown sugar |
2 eggs |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1 cup flour |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
4 tablespoons cocoa |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1 tablespoon butter |
2 tablespoons milk (or hot water) |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1 cup icing sugar |
2 tablespoons cocoa |
Directions:
1. Mix oats, water, margarine, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla together well. 2. Fold in flour, baking soda, cocoa, and baking powder. 3. Bake in 8x8 pan at 350F for 35 minutes. 4. Icing: beat butter, milk, and vanilla together, then add icing sugar and cocoa, beat until creamy. 5. Ice cake after it has cooled! |
