Ingredients:
1 3/4 cups boiling water |
1 cup quick-cooking oats |
1/2 cup butter |
1 cup sugar |
1 cup brown sugar, packed |
2 eggs |
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour |
2 tablespoons baking cocoa |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 (11 1/2 ounce) package chocolate chips, divided |
1 cup walnuts, chopped |
Directions:
1. Combine water and oats in a bowl and let stand for 10 minutes. 2. In another bowl, cream butter and sugars. 3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each. 4. Beat in oat mixture. 5. Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt together and gradually add to creamed mixture. 6. Stir in 1 cup chips. 7. Pour into greased 13 X 9 X 2 baking pan and sprinkle with walnuts and remaining chips. 8. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. 9. Cool on wire rack. |
