Chocolate Nutty Caramel Bars |

If you like caramel and chocolate you will enjoy these bars. They will disappear faster than it took to make them. Ingredients:
2 1/3 cups flour, divided |
2 cups old fashioned oats |
1 cup packed brown sugar |
1 tsp baking soda |
1/4 tsp salt |
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, melted |
2 cups (12 oz pkg) semi-sweet chocolate morsels |
1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts |
1 cup (12.25 oz jar) caramel ice cream topping |
Directions:
1. Combine 2 cups flour, oats, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt. 2. Add butter and stir until all ingredients are moist. 3. Reserve 1 cup of crumb mixture. 4. Press remaining mixture into bottom of an ungreased 9 x13 baking dish. 5. Bake at 350 degrees until lightly browned. 6. Immediately sprinkle chocolate morsels and walnuts over hot crust. 7. In a small bowl, combine caramel topping and the remaining 1/3 cup of flour. 8. Drizzle it over the chocolate and walnut layer. 9. Sprinkle with reserved crumb mixture. 10. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes or until lightly browned. 11. Cool completely in pan on wire rack before cutting. |
