CHOCOLATE MARSHMALLOW POPCORN BALLS This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Quinn Estate in Arlington, Texas in 1991.
Ingredients:
8 ounces marshmallows
3/4 cup butter
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
12 cups popped popcorn
1-1/2 pounds sweet dark chocolate chopped
3 tablespoons whipping cream
Directions:
1. Combine marshmallows, 1 stick of the butter and salt in medium saucepan.
2. Cook over medium heat stirring often until marshmallows and butter are melted.
3. Remove from heat then stir in vanilla.
4. Pour over popcorn in large bowl then toss to combine.
5. Form popcorn mixture into small 1 balls and place on baking sheet covered with wax paper.
6. Let sit until completely dry.
7. Melt chocolate, remaining 1/4 butter and cream in medium saucepan over medium low heat.
8. Roll popcorn balls in chocolate one at a time to completely cover then let harden on wax paper.
